Zhangjiajie 5 Days 4 Nights Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Zhangjiajie, Rest in the City. After arrival, check into your hotel in the city and drop off your luggage. In the evening, be sure to visit the Seventy-Two Wonders Tower for the night view; the lights are dazzling and incredibly photogenic, plus it’s not sunny at night.

Day 2: Explore the Avatar World (First Half of the Forest Park). Enter through the Wulingyuan Landmark Gate (East Gate) and take the Bailong Elevator directly up the mountain, saving you the effort of climbing. Visit Yuanjiajie, including the Qiankun Pillar (the inspiration for the “Hallelujah Mountains” in Avatar), the Enchanted Terrace, and the First Bridge Under Heaven, among other highlights.

Day 3: Stroll Through the Natural Oxygen Bar (Second Half of the Forest Park). In the morning, visit Jinbian Stream, where the clear water and towering peaks on both sides create a natural air-conditioned valley, perfect for families with children to walk, play, and splash in the water. In the afternoon, head to the Ten-Mile Gallery; a mini-train tour is highly recommended, allowing you to admire the unique rock formations such as the Herb-Gathering Old Man and the Three Sisters Peaks along the way—a relaxing and stress-free experience.

Day 4: Cloud-Top Stroll & Ancient Town Night View (Tianmen Mountain + Fenghuang Ancient Town) In the morning, visit Tianmen Mountain, ride the world’s longest mountain cableway, experience the thrill of the glass walkway, and overlook the spectacular Tianmen Cave. In the afternoon, take the high-speed train to Fenghuang Ancient Town. Stay overnight by the Tuojiang River and enjoy the dazzling night view of the ancient town.

Day 5: Morning Charm of the Ancient Town & Leisurely Return Trip Fenghuang Ancient Town is very peaceful in the early morning. You can take a walk along the Tuojiang River and experience a tranquility different from the daytime. Afterwards, depending on your return time, you can explore the ancient town, buy some local specialties, and then conclude your pleasant trip.
