Zhangjiajie6-Day, 5-Night Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Zhangjiajie
Upon arrival at the Zhangjiajie airport or train station, your private driver will greet you and transfer you to the Hampton by Hilton Zhangjiajie. This internationally renowned hotel enjoys a prime location at the foot of Tianmen Mountain. After checking in, you can relax and enjoy a pleasant evening, preparing for the exciting journey ahead.

Day 2: The Timeless Charm of Fenghuang Ancient Town
Take an early morning high-speed train to Fenghuang Ancient Town, one of China’s best-preserved ancient towns. Stroll along the Tuojiang River, admire the classic stilt houses, and wander through narrow flagstone alleys. As night falls, the reflection of lanterns in the water transforms the ancient town into a dazzling, enchanting spectacle—truly breathtaking. Spend the night at the Fenghuang Yunyuexi Resort, designed in the style of a traditional Miao village.

Day 3: Return to Zhangjiajie & Thrilling Glass Bridge Experience
Return to Zhangjiajie by high-speed train in the morning. In the afternoon, head to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon to walk across the world-famous glass bridge, suspended 300 meters above the ground. Adventurous visitors can look down through the transparent deck at the lush canyon below. After crossing the bridge, you can choose to explore the canyon on foot or by boat. Spend the night at the Pullman Zhangjiajie, one of the region’s top two five-star hotels.

Day 4: Panoramic Mountain Views & A Peaceful Canyon Stroll
Visit Huangshizhai (Yellow Stone Village), a massive mountaintop plateau surrounded by steep cliffs that offers panoramic views of the quartz-sandstone peak forest. As the saying goes, “You haven’t truly visited Zhangjiajie until you’ve been to Huangshizhai.” Afterward, descend to Golden Whip Stream Canyon, one of the most tranquil hiking routes in the national forest. Walk along the crystal-clear stream, winding between towering quartzite cliffs amidst lush greenery, with occasional sightings of wildlife.

Day 5: The Heart of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
Start at Yuanjiajie. Ascend the Bailong Elevator—the world’s tallest outdoor glass elevator. Within seconds, you are plunged into darkness. You are inside the mountain, ascending rapidly. Then—as if appearing out of thin air—the rock face splits open, light floods in, and a forest of countless floating peaks bursts into view. There is no warning, no gradual reveal—only a moment of pure, jaw-dropping awe. It is a moment you will never forget. Afterward, you will head to Tianzi Mountain, where thousands of stone pillars stretch toward the horizon—majestic, imposing, and truly otherworldly.

Day 6 – Tianmen Mountain: Tianmen Cave
On the final day of your itinerary, you will ascend one of Zhangjiajie’s most iconic landmarks: Tianmen Mountain. You will climb the legendary 999 steps leading to the natural arch carved into the sheer cliff face—Tianmen Cave (Heaven’s Gate). Stroll along the cliffside walkways, including the heart-stopping glass skywalk that hangs over the precipice. Following this unforgettable experience, your driver will take you to the airport, bringing your journey to a close.
